Welcome to Day Services!

 

Day service programs provide opportunities for individuals to work, play, socialize, develop relationships, learn life skills, and realize their dreams. 

 


 

Group Supported Employment (GSE) under 55

This program provides opportunities for people to learn a variety of work skills in the community.  In our facilities participants develop social skills and increase self esteem.  The work opportunities include making floral arrangements, gardening, woodworking, sewing, craft assembly, painting, staining, car washing, customer service, running a cash register, folding and ironing clothes, store display set up, pricing stock, pick up and delivery of donation items, janitorial, landscaping, bottle pick up and redemption, clerical and reception duties.  The work sites are The Arc (Cook Hill Office), The Arc Emporium, 4H camp, The East Woodstock Congregational Church, The Hampton Congregational Church, Heritage Pines Condominiums, the Brooklyn Senior Center, Seeley Brown Retirement Village, Frito Lay, several private parties and most recently acquired, Pomfret Schools.  The staff teaches work skills while performing work tasks side by side with the individuals. 

Day Service Options (DSO) and Retirement Services (RSP) 55 and Older

This program is fully integrated in the Brooklyn Senior Center.  The Arc's program is part of the community center. The program provides trips into the community meaningful activities on site and off and opportunities for people to go places and do things they have never had access to elsewhere in their lives.   

Group Supported Employment (GSE) with activity options and Community Experience Program (CEP) under 55

This program provides opportunities for people to learn and use social skills, participate in activities with their peers in the community and has an added component of work skill development.
